In November, the Union of Retail Trade in Pharmaceutical Products in the State of São Paulo - Sincofarma, held a course on vaccination, aimed at pharmacists.
The associates, coming from different states, obtained guidance on how to apply the vaccines, vaccination schedule and how to set up vaccination rooms in pharmacies according to the legislation. In addition to regulations for selling and applying vaccines, a key issue was the correct storage of immunobiologicals.
To provide guidance on all these topics, Sincofarma invited Roberto Olivares, Commercial Director of Biotecno, who gave the lecture “Correct storage of vaccines under the light of ANVISAs rules”. With the involvement of the participants, Roberto presented the aspects of the correct storage of vaccines according to the rules of ANVISA and the National Immunization Program - PNI, according to the Manual of the Cold Chain.
Among the main topics, the importance of a homogeneous temperature between 2°C to 8°C for the effectiveness of immunization and the great differences between smart preservation chambers and common refrigerators - with emphasis on the records and automatic actions performed by smart technology to ensure conservation. In the Biotecno lecture, pharmacists also asked questions about the possible ways of storing the new vaccine against Covid-19, which may require temperatures between -70°C and -80°C, a real challenge for the logistics of the cold chain.
Biotecno, as an active part of the health segment, once again contributes to the training of professionals in the area. Between December 18th and 19th, Sincofarma will hold a new edition of the course with the participation of Biotecno.
